Why it matters: The charges represent a significant development in the investigation into Mr Roche's death, which occurred three weeks after an incident in Whitehouse.

The details: Mr Roche died at Ipswich Hospital on 11 August after an incident which took place in the Ulster Avenue and Waterford Road areas of Whitehouse on Friday, 25 July.

A Home Office post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday, and subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the man has been identified as Andrew Roche, 42.

What's next: Watchman, of Wicklow Road, Ipswich, and the teenage boy, who cannot be named because of his age, will appear before Ipswich Magistrates this morning.

What police want: Officers are keen to speak to anyone present in the area shortly before 4.50pm on Friday, 25 July, on Ulster Avenue and a short time later on Waterford Road.

How to help: Anyone with information can contact Suffolk Police quoting crime reference 37/41657/25 via their public portal or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
