Why it matters: The 42-year-old from Ipswich died on 11 August following an incident in the Whitehouse area on 25 July, leaving behind three children and a family devastated by their loss.
The details: Mr Roche, known to most as "Rochie," was taken to hospital after being injured on 25 July but sadly passed away more than two weeks later.
His family described him as having "an infectious smile" and knowing "how to make people laugh," calling him "such a comical character" who was "a good friend to many."
What they're saying: In a tribute issued through Suffolk Police, his family said: "Andrew adored his three children and loved his nephews and nieces; he just loved his family, as they did him. Andrew's passion was music, he loved doing MCing in the pubs or karaoke and was always listening to music and singing."
The family added: "This was an awful tragedy to someone who still had his whole life to live, but he has been denied that, and to see his children grow into adults. This has left a massive hole in our hearts, which we may never heal from."
The bigger picture: Thomas Watchman, 38, of Wicklow Road, Ipswich, and a teenage boy, who cannot be named because of his age, have both been charged with manslaughter. They appeared before Ipswich Magistrates last week, and their Crown Court trial is due to take place during the week beginning 8 December.
What's next: Police continue to support Mr Roche's family and are keen to speak to anyone present in the area shortly before 4:50pm on Friday, 25 July, on Ulster Avenue and a short time later on Waterford Road.
The bottom line: "You were a true Whitton legend, Andrew, who will be missed by so many. We love you," his family said, remembering a man whose kindness and love of music touched many lives in the community.
