Man arrested in Norwich after Kesgrave cycle path stabbing

A suspect has been arrested in Norwich after a morning assault left a man with stab wounds on a popular Kesgrave cycle route.

Why it matters: Police have now apprehended the suspect following the stabbing, which they believe was an isolated incident between individuals known to each other.

The details: Officers were called at 9:25am today (Thursday 1 May) to reports of an incident involving two men on a cycle path near to Mead Drive.

The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained stab injuries and has been taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

What's next: The suspect, also a man in his 20s, was located in Norwich this afternoon and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has been taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Despite the arrest, officers will still be providing reassurance through high-visibility foot patrols in the area over the weekend.

The bottom line: Any witnesses or anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Ipswich CID quoting reference 37/23393/25 via the Suffolk Police website or by calling 101. Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their online form.
