Young driver rescued after car crashes into ditch in Hintlesham

Firefighters freed a 23-year-old man from his car after it left the road and crashed into a ditch in Hintlesham in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The incident required a multi-agency response, including two fire engines, police and ambulance services.

The details:

  • Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called at 00:14 to George Street, Hintlesham

  • The driver was medically trapped with leg injuries

  • Firefighters used cutting equipment to free him from the vehicle

  • Two fire engines attended - one from Princes Street and one from Hadleigh

The response: Emergency services mounted a coordinated rescue operation:

  • Fire crews from two stations worked to free the trapped driver

  • Ambulance personnel were on scene to provide medical care

  • Police attended to manage the incident

Bottom line: The driver was successfully freed from the vehicle and transferred to the care of ambulance services. His current condition is unknown.
