Why it matters: The 180 Team – more commonly known as the Integrated Offender Management Team – works to break the cycle of offending by offering tailored support to individuals involved with the criminal justice system, helping create safer communities across Suffolk.
What they do: The dedicated team manages and reduces reoffending by working closely with people who have been through the criminal justice system. They focus on breaking down barriers, helping people get back on their feet, and supporting rehabilitation plans.
The team recently demonstrated their community commitment by volunteering to repaint the boxing gym at Murrayside Community Centre in Ipswich.

The bigger picture: The community centre serves as more than just a gym – it provides a safe space where young people can get involved in sport and find direction. The 180 Team currently uses the centre's services to work with some of their younger offenders.
"Boxing is not just about punching, it teaches resilience, perseverance, and mental strength, all qualities that will help our clients build a fresh start," the team explained.

What they're saying: The volunteering experience reinforced the trust and relationships the team works to build with the community.
"It reinforced the trust and relationships we work so hard to build, showing that we are not just enforcers of the law, but also active supporters of community growth and rehabilitation," team members said.
"The experience strengthened our teamwork, boosted morale, and provided a much-needed reminder of the impact we can have beyond our job roles."
The bottom line: The 180 Team's work demonstrates that rehabilitation and community engagement go hand in hand, showing that change is possible for everyone. Local groups can contact the team at 180team@suffolk.police.uk for support.
