Man arrested after untaxed Ford Focus crashes into house on Foxhall Road roundabout

An untaxed Ford Focus has crashed into a bungalow on Foxhall Road in Ipswich, leading to one arrest. Two men were seen fleeing the scene before police arrived.

The details: Police were called at 00:12 to reports of a car crashing into a bungalow wall near the roundabout junction with A1189.

  • Two men were seen leaving the white Ford Focus and walking towards the town centre

  • The vehicle's tax expired on 1 October 2024, 71 days ago

  • A man was arrested at 07:38 on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken to hospital for treatment

  • The vehicle's tax expired on 1 October 2024, 71 days ago

The response:

  • A police cordon remains in place while the building is assessed

  • Structural engineers have attended the scene

  • Utility service engineers were also called to inspect the property

  • The vehicle is awaiting removal

Police appeal: Officers are asking for witnesses to come forward. They particularly want to hear from:

  • Residents with CCTV or doorbell cameras

  • Drivers with dash-cam footage from the area

  • Anyone with information about the incident

What's next: The cordon is likely to remain in place while structural engineers complete their assessment of the building.
