Why it matters: Removing more knives from our streets helps protect residents and reduces the risk of knife-related incidents in the community.

The big picture: Suffolk Constabulary is participating in the national Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, which runs from Monday, 23 June, to Sunday, 29 June. The week aims to celebrate the achievements of neighbourhood policing teams and highlight their vital work in keeping communities safe.

What's next: Police are encouraging residents to continue using the Queen's Way knife amnesty bin for safe disposal of unwanted blades.

The bottom line: The knife collection illustrates how neighbourhood policing teams are actively working to make Ipswich safer through community engagement and crime prevention initiatives.
