By the numbers:

  • VEG TABLE is stocked in more than 500 Tesco stores

  • It is owned by Fenmarc, a vegetable and stirfry dish producer that employs around 300 people with a turnover of over £60m

What they're saying: Caroline Buggisch, Senior Brand Manager at Fenmarc, said: "Pier impressed us with their vast experience of delivering social media and influencer activity for a variety of big consumer brands. They clearly live and breathe social; they have their finger on the pulse when it comes to best practices and the latest trends."

Amy Bendall, Managing Director at Pier, said: "We're true foodies here at Pier and love nothing more than getting under the skin of exciting new brands and helping them reach new audiences."

The bigger picture: Pier, which was founded in Suffolk in 2008, specialises in food and beverage communications. The agency was named PR Consultancy of the Year at the CIPR PRide Awards last year.

The bottom line: The contract adds to Pier's growing portfolio of food and drink clients, which includes Saputo Dairy UK, Fieldfare and Supreme Petfoods.
