The big picture: Her exceptional achievement comes as Suffolk New College celebrated results day today, with hundreds of students picking up their vocational and T Level results across four campuses in Ipswich, Otley, Leiston and Halesworth.
By the numbers:
78 T Level students completed courses across agriculture, construction, engineering, health, digital production and design, education and early years, health and science pathways
100% pass rate achieved by all students in health and science pathways
Eight learners achieved distinction grades across agriculture, early years and health, placing them in the top 15% nationally
BTEC qualifications achieved a 95% pass rate with 130 students achieving positive grades
Five learners gained top BTEC marks of double DDD distinction and above
What they're saying: "It's been another incredible year for everyone associated with the College. The class of 2025 have really excelled themselves," said Marianne Flack, deputy principal of Suffolk New College. "I would like to congratulate all of our students on their many successes and praise them for their hard work and dedication."
Esther said of her achievement: "I got on really well [at Suffolk New College]. It was a two-year course. It's been brilliant."
The details: Other standout performers included Lola Carey, 18, from Hadleigh, who received the highest grade possible on her sports course, gaining a DDD* grade. Her dream is to work for Ipswich Town Football Club.
Leo Banfield, 19, from Ipswich, who met Sir Keir Starmer at an event held at Suffolk New College earlier this year, successfully passed his engineering T Level and has started a degree apprenticeship with Pentaco.
Student governor Emily Hammond achieved a distinction on her childcare T Level and starts work at a nursery in September.
The bottom line: Suffolk New College's results reflect strong performance across vocational pathways, with students progressing to employment, apprenticeships and further education opportunities.
