Why it matters: PLMR Genesis  has been awarded B Corp status, joining more than 150 certified businesses in the East of England and dozens in Suffolk that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

The details: The independent certification is awarded by B Lab, a global not-for-profit organisation that assesses companies against strict standards of how their operations and business model deliver positive outcomes for people, communities and the planet.

PLMR Genesis was awarded B Corp status as part of the PLMR Group. The group was recognised for having an "Impact Business Model", reflecting the nature of its client work for "Purpose-Driven and Underserved Enterprises", with a significant majority of the group's revenues coming from organisations such as schools, universities, charities, healthcare providers, public sector bodies and renewable energy companies, as well as other B Corps.

The bigger picture: The announcement follows a strong year for the agency, with it recently rising 20 places in the 2025 PRovoke Global Rankings of PR agencies, reflecting its continued growth, impact and reputation in the UK and internationally.

What they're saying: Tim Miller , managing director of PLMR Genesis, said: "We're extremely pleased to be recognised with B Corp certification. PLMR Genesis has a long and proud history in the East of England, and this achievement reflects the values that have shaped our work here for many years. This certification reinforces our commitment to making a positive and sustainable impact for our clients, our people and the communities we serve."

Kevin Craig , founder and chief executive of PLMR Group, said: "The B Corp certification reflects the kind of business we have always set out to build at PLMR – one that delivers excellent work for clients and creates a supportive workplace where colleagues can thrive, all while making a positive contribution to society. We know that communications can shape debate, influence behaviour and drive meaningful change. We look forward to contributing our perspectives to the B Corp community over the years ahead and learning from others within it."

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, said: "We are delighted to welcome PLMR to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies that are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. We know that PLMR is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward."

For context: PLMR Genesis joins a growing community of Suffolk B Corps, including sustainable energy company Insight Energy , which achieved certification in September 2024 with an impact score of 103.8, and Kingsfleet, independent financial planners based in Claydon, who were certified in May 2022. Other notable B Corps include property consultancy Bidwells LLP, flat roof waterproofing specialist Axter UK, international freight firm Exim Group, and The Mackman Group, which achieved certification in December 2023.

What's next: As a B Corp-certified business, the agency will be required to undergo reassessment every three years, ensuring it continues to meet the high standards expected of the certification.

The bottom line: PLMR Genesis has demonstrated that success in business can go hand in hand with making a positive difference, earning recognition for its commitment to social and environmental responsibility alongside commercial excellence.
