The background: The charges relate to a fatal collision on the A14 westbound at Sproughton at 17:40 on Tuesday 4 June. The crash involved a car, a van and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, Kevin Doherty, 44, from Somersham, died at the scene.

What happened next: Police arrested the accused on Wednesday 5 June after a video reportedly showing the victim was shared on social media. He was questioned at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre and released under investigation.

The bottom line: The suspect will appear in court next week to be formally charged with both offences.
