How to secure tickets for Ed Sheeran's Portman Road concerts

Pre-sale access opens on 7 May for fans who pre-order the singer's new album, ahead of general sale on 9 May.

Why it matters: These special hometown shows mark Ed Sheeran's first UK headline performances since 2023, with the Suffolk star playing where he once watched concerts as a child.

How to get pre-sale tickets:

  • Pre-order Sheeran's upcoming album 'Play' via his official website by 15:00 on Tuesday, 6 May

  • This gives fans exclusive pre-sale access starting at 10:00 on Wednesday, 7 May

  • Pre-sale link will be sent to those who pre-order the album

For general sale tickets:

  • General ticket sale begins on Friday, 9 May at 10:00

  • Expect high demand as these are Sheeran's only announced UK shows for 2025

  • £1 from every ticket supports the Live Trust, helping grassroots music venues

The details: The global superstar will perform at Ipswich Town's stadium on three consecutive nights with different supporting acts:

  • Friday, 11 July: with Myles Smith and Tori Kelly

  • Saturday, 12 July: with Busted and Dylan

  • Sunday, 13 July: with James Blunt and Maisie Peters

What they're saying: "These tickets will go very, very quickly so please make sure you sign up early if you wanna come," Sheeran warned fans in his announcement.

For context: The singer has a deep connection to the venue, sharing: "I play all around the world, in such amazing stadiums, but nothing means as much as this one here."

What to expect: The shows will feature fan favourites alongside debut performances of tracks from 'Play', described as exploring "new musical ground" while maintaining the acoustic-driven songs that made Sheeran famous.

The bottom line: After years of trying to coordinate with the football schedule, Town investor Sheeran has finally secured the chance to play his "dream" venue, promising "a weekend I'll remember for the rest of my life."
