Egamshukurov, aged 21 and of Great Avenham Street, Preston, was sentenced to three years and seven months in jail on Thursday, 17 July, after pleading guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply drugs.
The details: Two officers conducted a stop on a black Honda Jazz on London Road, Ipswich, on Tuesday, 10 December 2024. Egamshukurov was the sole occupant and was detained under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act for a search.
During the search, 252 grams of uncut cocaine were found concealed inside a Nescafé box located in the vehicle's glove compartment. This was valued between £18,675 and £24,900. A mobile phone and £130 in cash were also seized.
Police identified an address from the mobile phone and conducted a Section 18 search at an address on Clapgate Lane in Ipswich, resulting in the seizure of two vapes from a bedroom. These vapes contained 13 grip-seal bags of cocaine. £290 in cash was also seized.
What they're saying: In his interview, Egamshukurov denied knowledge of the cocaine found in the vehicle, claiming that others also used the car. However, forensic evidence of the Nescafé box revealed his fingerprint on the interior.
What to do: If you suspect drug activity, report this via the website https://www.suffolk.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/, call 101, or alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers to report anonymously – either online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
