Affordable fashion retailer Yours set for high street move this month

The national clothing store is moving from Sailmakers shopping centre to the high street, taking over the former Ann Summers premises at 24 Tavern Street.

The details: Yours has secured the premises that became available earlier this month when Ann Summers pulled out of the town centre. The fashion retailer has committed to a 10-year lease for the site, signalling long-term confidence in the town centre location.

The former Ann Summers store had operated at 24 Tavern Street for three years after relocating from Westgate Street in August 2022. Before Ann Summers, the unit was occupied by Paperchase.

The bigger picture: The move adds to recent positive developments for the high street, which has welcomed several new businesses in recent months, including Jamaica Blue, vegan restaurant Hanks, and fashion retailer Utopia.

The bottom line: Yours Clothing's commitment to a decade-long lease on Tavern Street shows retailers are still bullish on Ipswich town centre's future.
