Why it matters: The move brings a well-regarded Suffolk practice into one of the region's larger accountancy firms, with clients of Oxlade & Bond set to gain access to a wider pool of specialists while, Scrutton Bland says, continuing to receive the same personal service.

The details: Oxlade & Bond officially joined Scrutton Bland on 31 March 2026. Tim Oxlade and Sarah Wright, who ran the Melton-based practice, will remain actively involved over the coming months to ensure a smooth handover for clients.

What they're saying: Jason Fayers, managing partner at Scrutton Bland, said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome the clients of Oxlade & Bond to Scrutton Bland. Tim and Sarah have built a great practice with strong client relationships and a reputation for quality and integrity that mirrors our own. This partnership is a natural fit for both firms, and we look forward to building on their legacy while continuing to provide a personal, high-quality service to every client."

Tim Oxlade said: "Having spent over 40 years in the profession, this was an important decision for us. Scrutton Bland is a firm I know well, having started my career there, and one we have worked alongside for many years. We are confident that our clients will continue to receive the same level of care and attention, alongside access to an even broader range of expertise."

Sarah Wright added: "It has been a privilege to support our clients over the years, and ensuring they are in safe hands was our top priority. Scrutton Bland shares our values and commitment to client service, and we are pleased to be passing the baton to a team that will continue to look after our clients so well."

The bottom line: The merger brings together two firms with longstanding ties to Suffolk's business community, with Scrutton Bland, and parent company Sumer Group, continuing to expand its presence across East Anglia.
