The Walk's popular Vintage & Retro Street Market is back this weekend, with stalls winding through the Buttermarket and into the Ancient House for the first time.

Why it matters: The monthly market is organised by Threads for All, The Military Unit and Hanks Vegan Restaurant, with support from Ipswich Central, and is designed to drive footfall into the town centre and celebrate independent businesses in Suffolk.

The big picture: This month's event is expanding beyond its usual home in The Walk's alleys, spilling onto Buttermarket and into the Ancient House – a Grade I-listed building dating from the 15th century.

The details: Shoppers can browse vintage and retro finds from across Suffolk, including unique fashion, jewellery, art, homewares and vinyl. Stalls will be spread across multiple rooms and the courtyard of the Ancient House, as well as the surrounding streets.

Who's there: Many stalls are travelling from across the region, including popular vinyl specialists Vinyl Chief, Pinkie & Quirky Vintage Frippery, Anrik Sermika and Repurpose & Revival, who offer antiques and furniture restoration.

Stalls will feature returning favourites including Darling Vintage Clothing, Wren Wild, Mc Musk and Time & Time Again. And new additions include JL Retro, Smokin Roses and Angel 13, which sells handmade and up-cycled clothing.

The bottom line: Whether you are a seasoned collector or simply enjoy a rummage through unique finds, this is a chance to visit independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and explore some of Ipswich's most striking historic buildings while browsing vintage and retro treasures from across the region - making it an ideal day out in the town centre.
