A popular cake stall has been granted a year-long licence to trade outside Ipswich Town's Portman Road ground, as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League.

The details: Ipswich Borough Council's licensing committee voted unanimously to approve the application.

Daniel Fuller, of The Travelling Teapot, will be able to trade just outside the Cobbold Stand for two hours before and after each home fixture, selling cakes, bakes and pastries.

Fuller has been a regular feature at home games since last December, when he began trading on a temporary licence. Officers told members the stall had been successful since it was set up, with no issues reported.

What they're saying: Cllr Inga Lockington said it would be a "nice alternative" to what was already provided on matchdays.

The bottom line: The Travelling Teapot is now a permanent fixture of the Portman Road matchday experience. While next season will be anything but a slice of cake for Town, at least supporters can enjoy one before and after the game.
