Police warn of drug-laced vapes after two men collapse in Ipswich
Suffolk police are warning the public about illicit vapes after men in their 30s and 50s collapsed in separate incidents in Ipswich this month, with seized products found to contain a dangerous synthetic cannabinoid.

The details: The warning follows two separate incidents in Ipswich earlier this month, in which the men became unwell and collapsed after using suspected illicit vaping products. A number of vapes were seized and sent for testing, which identified an extremely dangerous synthetic cannabinoid.
What they're saying: Sergeant Alasdair Nicol said: "Unlike legally regulated vaping products, illegal vapes may contain unknown substances and harmful chemicals which may cause serious and unpredictable health complications, including breathing issues, loss of consciousness and hospitalisation.
"Whilst these products are often sold at lower prices than legally regulated vapes, we are urging members of the public not to purchase vapes from unofficial sources.
"It's important to stress that the dangers associated with illegal vapes are not limited to young people; unregulated products can pose a serious health issue to users of any age."
The other side: Sgt Nicol added that anyone found possessing and supplying illicit products containing illegal drugs could also be committing criminal offences.
What's next: Anyone with information about the supply or use of illegal vapes is asked to contact Suffolk police via its website or by calling 101. Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers, online or by calling 0800 555 111.
