Man charged after alleged knife attack on Bramford Road

A 22-year-old Ipswich man has been charged after a man was threatened and another was allegedly targeted in a knife attack outside a shop on Bramford Road earlier this month.

The details: The incident took place at around 22:30 on Wednesday, 8 April, outside a shop on Bramford Road, near the junction with Rendlesham Road. A suspect is alleged to have threatened one man in his 40s and attempted to stab another man in his 50s before fleeing the area.

Riley Clarke, of Downing Close, Ipswich, was arrested on Sunday, 12 April and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He has since been charged with section 18 attempted wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Clarke appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Monday, 13 April, where he was remanded.
