Man arrested after ATM 'damaged' in Ipswich town centre
A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after police were called to reports of a man damaging an ATM on Upper Brook Street.
The details: Suffolk Constabulary said officers were called to Upper Brook Street just after 08:45 today following reports a man was damaging a cash machine.
- A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
- He has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains.
What happened: Two police cars and a police van attended the scene, along with a video surveillance unit, opposite Sports Direct on Tavern Street.

Onlookers watched as three officers wrestled the suspect to the ground and arrested him.
The bottom line: A man remains in police custody as enquiries into the reported ATM damage continue.
