Ipswich window repair firm raises money for EACH
By donating £2 every time someone books a repair, Mr Misty, has already raised more than £1,200 for families supported by East Anglia's Children's Hospices, prompting to keep the campaign going until the end of June.
Why it matters: East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) receives around 15% of its funding from government sources, meaning it relies heavily on community support to provide care for children and their families.
The details: Mr Misty, a family-run business serving homeowners across Ipswich and the surrounding areas of Suffolk and Essex, launched its "Repair with a Purpose" scheme at the start of this year.
The campaign pledged to donate £2 from every job booked during the first quarter of 2026. After raising more than £1,200, the company has extended the scheme until the end of June. Customers who book during the extended period will contribute automatically, at no extra cost.
What they're saying: "Our customers like the idea that something as simple as booking a repair can also make a meaningful difference," said Mr Misty owner, Joshua Sheppard. "Every repair job we complete not only helps keep homes safe and secure but also supports families facing incredibly difficult circumstances. Extending the campaign felt like the natural next step."
EACH's senior corporate fundraiser for Suffolk and Essex, Anna Bruce, said the partnership went beyond financial support. "Partnerships like this don't just help us financially – they also help raise awareness of the services we provide and the families we support. Every pound raised helps ensure children and their families can access the care and support they need, when they need it most."
The bottom line: An act of community spirit has turned routine home repairs into a meaningful source of support for children and families across the region.
