Why it matters: The money will support young people facing cancer and their families, helping fund research and care provided by the Colchester-based charity across the UK.

The details: Colleagues across Ellisons' offices in Colchester, Bury St Edmunds, Chelmsford, Frinton-on-Sea, Ipswich and Norwich took part in a year-long programme of fundraising activities for the firm's Charity of the Year campaign.

Initiatives included:

  • A firm-wide 'Tea for Tom' event
  • Bake sales and dress-down days
  • Seasonal events including Easter activities, Christmas jumper days and Halloween dress-up
  • Pancake day and Valentine's sales
  • Wreath-making workshops and sound baths
  • Interactive office events, including fantasy football and a staff Christmas party game

What they're saying: Ian Seeley, Partner and Chairman of Ellisons' Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, said: "This has shown what can be achieved when colleagues come together behind a shared cause. The level of engagement across the firm has been fantastic, and raising over £10,000 is a great result. We are proud to support the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation and the important work they do."

Nikki Bowdidge, CEO of The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation, added: "We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Ellisons for their support. The funds raised, along with the awareness generated, will make a real difference to the young people and families we support across the UK. Support like this is vital in helping us continue funding research and providing essential care."

The bottom line: A year of bake sales, dress-up days and wellness events has helped Ellisons raise vital funds and awareness for young people facing cancer, marking a successful close to the firm's Charity of the Year campaign.
