Ipswich print firm expands again amid growth run
Evolve Business Solutions has expanded its premises for the second time in two years, taking on neighbouring space to almost double its warehouse and office capacity.
The details: The Suffolk-based managed print specialist has grown from 2,250 sq ft to 3,350 sq ft, giving it room to hold more stock and expand its team – the latest step in a growth run that has included a Norfolk acquisition and a doubled headcount over the past year.
The additional premises will allow the company to hold significantly more stock of printers, consumables and spare parts, improving availability for customers, while also creating extra office space for its expanding team.
The move follows Evolve's relocation to a larger headquarters in 2024.
What they're saying: Ross Cracknell, Managing Director of Evolve Business Solutions, said: "Many people think printing is disappearing, but that's simply not what we're seeing. Businesses are printing differently, and they need solutions that are secure, efficient and flexible enough to support today's way of working.
"Whether staff are working from the office, at home or across multiple sites, organisations still need reliable document management. They also need software that keeps devices secure, protects sensitive information and helps reduce operating costs.
"Our role has evolved far beyond supplying printers. We're helping businesses improve productivity, strengthen security and make smarter long-term technology decisions."
He added: "We've always reinvested back into the business. Every decision we've made has been about improving the service we deliver to customers and ensuring we're ready for the next stage of growth.
"Taking on the neighbouring premises gives us the space we need today, while creating capacity for tomorrow. It's another investment in our customers, our team and the future of the business."
For context: Evolve says that while printing is often seen as a declining industry, businesses' requirements have simply evolved. Modern organisations now need secure print management for hybrid working, cloud-connected devices, automated software updates, document security, managed workflows and energy-efficient technology to help reduce costs and environmental impact. Unlike many national providers, Evolve delivers its entire service in-house using its own manufacturer-trained engineers, with an average response time of around three hours.
The bigger picture: The expansion is the latest milestone in a sustained period of growth for the company. In September 2025, Evolve acquired Protocopy, the managed print division of Norfolk firm Rightprint Ltd, extending its reach beyond Suffolk. Since launching in 2020, the business has achieved average year-on-year growth of 48% over the past three years and has doubled its headcount in the last year alone.

The bottom line: A couple of years after moving into larger headquarters, Evolve Business Solutions is expanding again – another step in a growth strategy the firm says has been built on reinvestment and adapting to how businesses actually use print technology today.
