Why it matters: The store will bring a new independent music retailer to one of Ipswich's main retail districts, adding to a growing cluster of music-related businesses in the area.

The details: Musictakeaway has agreed a five-year lease on the Grade II listed premises, which spans 1,347 sq ft across three floors. The building was previously occupied by Idelo Travel agency for over 10 years.

The company, based in Acle, Norfolk, specialises in original and reissue vinyl LPs, 45s and EPs spanning the 1950s to the present day, covering all genres. It has been looking to open its first store in Suffolk, before settling on the premises on St. Nicholas Street.

What's next: Musictakeaway will begin fitting out the premises shortly and is expected to open to customers in the coming weeks.
