Why it matters: The display has been a much-loved Ipswich tradition since 1972, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for the 11th Ipswich Scout Group and other local charities.

The details: Alongside the fireworks, visitors can expect:

  • Fairground attractions
  • Street food and a bar
  • Fire and LED light performances
  • A bonfire
  • Halloween street entertainment
  • Live music across three stages

What's new: The musical fireworks display will be combined with lasers and choreographed to a soundtrack of Halloween songs.

Glenn Plume, founder and director of Alchemy Fireworks, said: "We've invested in the latest laser technology to add a whole new dimension to our fireworks displays.

"The combination of fireworks, smoke and lasers against the stunning backdrop of Christchurch Park will create an audio-visual experience like no other."

The line-up: J.S. & the Lockerbilies will headline the main stage with their blend of rock 'n' roll and roots music, led by frontman Josh Locke.

  • Lianne Kaye will perform with her band. She joined Ed Sheeran for an unexpected duet of "The A Team" during his surprise pop-up performance at Ipswich Waterfront.
  • Ipswich singer-songwriter Savannah Howard will bring her love of R&B to the stage.
  • AYO and DJ Rizz, both fresh from Latitude Festival, will make their Christchurch Park fireworks debut.
  • Described by organisers as an "Ipswich legend", DJ Delboy completes the line-up with a set of crowd favourites.

Tickets and timings: Tickets are available exclusively online and no payment is taken at the gates.

  • Adults: £12.99
  • Children: £8.99
  • Under-fives: free

Gates open at 18:00, the fireworks start at 20:00 and the event closes at 22:00. Organisers expect tickets to be in high demand and are encouraging families to book early.

For context: The display is organised entirely by volunteers from the 11th Ipswich Scout Group, with support from local businesses and other organisations.

Based in the Castle Hill area, the group provides activities for more than 100 young people from across Ipswich and the surrounding areas.

The bottom line: The Christchurch Park fireworks return with lasers, live music and Halloween entertainment, while raising funds for the volunteer-run Scout group that has staged the display since 1972.
