Why it matters: The deal adds Fox's Yacht Sales to a group that already includes Fox's Marina & Boatyard and Fox's Chandlery.

The details: Fox's Yacht Sales offers new yacht and motorboat sales, used boat brokerage, and authorised parts supply. Operating from two bases – Fox's Marina in Ipswich and Woolverstone Marina – the business has built a reputation as one of the most respected names in yacht brokerage on the East Coast.

The acquisition was advised by Ipswich law firm Ellisons, whose corporate and commercial team was led by partner Petra Sharp, supported by associate solicitor Adam Kanharn.

A new sales director has also been appointed: Charles Vinten, who brings a decade of experience in the local yacht brokerage industry, joins Fox's Yacht Sales having grown up sailing on the region's rivers.

What they're saying: Graham Miller, chief executive of Morgans Group, said: "This acquisition represents an important milestone for Morgans Group and supports our long-term vision for growth across our marine businesses. Fox's Yacht Sales has an outstanding reputation, a loyal customer base, and deep industry expertise, making it a natural fit within the group."

Petra Sharp of Ellisons added: "The transaction represents an exciting opportunity for the group to further strengthen its presence within the marine sector and build upon the strong reputation that Fox's Yacht Sales has established over many years."

For context: Fox's Yacht Sales continues to represent Beneteau sailboats and has added Wellcraft to its range of new boat brands. It remains an authorised Beneteau spare parts supplier through the manufacturer's official network. The business has also recently launched a new website.

The bottom line: The acquisition consolidates three well-known marine brands under the Morgans Group umbrella, strengthening the group's position in the leisure marine sector along the Suffolk and Essex coastline.
