Residents urged to nominate deserving local groups for £500 prize

Local people have until midnight on Tuesday, 30 September to nominate deserving charities and community groups for a £500 donation from housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, with the winner announced by Friday, 17 October.

Why it matters: The competition gives residents the chance to highlight local organisations that rely on donations or make a real difference to people's lives in Ipswich.

The details: Taylor Wimpey has launched its community chest competition, encouraging people across Ipswich to nominate groups or organisations they think are most deserving of support.

Suggestions can be made by emailing the name of the nominee and a brief description of why they have been nominated to ipswichcommunitychest@taylorwimpey-pr.co.uk by midnight on Tuesday, 30 September 2025. Only one email per person will be counted.

What they're saying: Olivia Peters, Head of Sales at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: "We recognise the importance of giving something back to the communities in which we build and there's no one better than local people to let us know who is making a real difference.

"Whether it is a local charity that relies on donations to carry out its work in the community, or a group or organisation that offers invaluable support to local people, we want to hear who you think would benefit from a £500 donation from us."

For context: Ipswich is home to four Taylor Wimpey developments, including Wolsey Grange in Ipswich, Auster Place and Deben Park at Brightwell Lakes in Martlesham, and Barham Meadows in Barham. These developments offer a range of two to five-bedroom properties, with prices currently ranging from £275,000 to £675,000.

The bottom line: Residents have a straightforward opportunity to support local causes by simply sending an email nomination, with one deserving group set to receive financial support that could make a real difference to their work in the community.

To nominate a local good cause, email ipswichcommunitychest@taylorwimpey-pr.co.uk by midnight on 30 September 2025.
