Why it matters: The event offers families a chance to meet the popular PAW Patrol characters for free, whilst marking the start of the festive season at the shopping centre.

The details: The heroic pups will make appearances at intervals throughout the day, giving fans opportunities to take photos with Chase and Skye. The event runs from 11:00 to 15:00, culminating in the official Christmas lights switch-on.

Free activities include face painting and a special centre trail where children can help the PAW Patrol pups find lost items. Successfully completing the trail will automatically enter participants into a festive prize draw.

What they're saying: Rebecca Bird, Centre Manager at the Buttermarket Centre, said: "We can't wait to kick off the Christmas season in such a spectacular way. Bringing Chase and Skye to help with the light switch-on truly makes this an unmissable family event. We encourage everyone to come down, join the trail, get their photos taken, and share in the start of the holiday cheer."

The bottom line: The Buttermarket's Christmas lights switch-on offers free festive entertainment for families, with PAW Patrol favourites Chase and Skye headlining the celebration this Sunday.
