Why it matters: For the 20th consecutive year, nine different ensembles from Ipswich School took to the stage of the world-renowned venue to deliver an ambitious programme that wowed audiences, leaving several remarking that the student's performances felt more like a professional concert than a school event.
What they're saying: Bev Steensma, Director of Music at Ipswich School, said: "I am continually inspired by the commitment and talent our students bring to every performance. Their energy and enthusiasm made this concert truly special, and we are immensely proud of what they have achieved together."

Headmaster Nick Gregory added: "The breadth, depth and sheer quality of Music in the 2025 version of Ipswich School is truly extraordinary. The brilliance of Ipswich School Music is a jewel to be cherished, preserved and protected."
The details: The programme included performances from the Prep School Chamber Choir and Orchestra, Senior School Symphony, Concert and Chamber Orchestras, Chapel Choir, Wolsey Consort, Show Choir and Big Band.
The evening opened with a powerful massed brass and percussion performance of The Imperial March and closed with a show-stopping Don't Stop Me Now medley that brought together performers from across the school in a spectacular finale and providing a poignant final bow for some of the school's leavers.

What's next: Plans are already in motion for next year's concert. Information about upcoming music events is available at https://www.ipswich.school/event/festival-of-music-2025/
The bottom line: Snape Maltings once again hosted a showcase of local student talent, with Ipswich School maintaining its two-decade tradition at the world-class venue, and reinforcing the school's established reputation for musical excellence.
