Runners can still register for the Ipswich Twilight 10K on 18 July, which starts and finishes at Portman Road.

Why it matters: The Ipswich Twilight 10K is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, marking a decade of what has become one of Suffolk's most iconic and best-loved running events. Thousands of runners have participated over the years, with hundreds expected to lace up their trainers for this special celebration.

The details: The race follows a dynamic route winding through Ipswich town centre, taking in key landmarks including the Corn Exchange, the Town Hall, and the iconic Willis Building. Enthusiastic crowds, armed with banners, bells, and whistles, will cheer on participants throughout the course.

The finish line awaits on the practice pitch at Portman Road, where families and spectators can enjoy an event village featuring sponsor stalls, refreshments, and a medal podium. Water will be available along the route and at the finish.

What's next: Two additional races add to the evening's excitement:

  • The Schools' Daily Mile (invitation-only) at 18:30

  • The ever-popular 2K Family Wave at 18:50

For context: This year's charity partner is East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), which supports families across the region and operates three hospices, including The Treehouse in Ipswich.

Tina Burdett, EACH's Community Fundraising Manager, said: "Once again, we're grateful to have such outstanding support and hope both the runners and organisers are looking forward to what promises to be a very special occasion. From our point of view, backing of this nature makes such an incredible difference, in terms of helping us continue our vital work."

David Scrivener, Partner at Ensors – the event's long-standing sponsors – said: "We're incredibly proud to be supporting the Twilight 10k for its tenth year. This event has grown into something truly special for Ipswich – bringing people together, creating a brilliant atmosphere, and showcasing the town at its best."

The bottom line: Registration remains open for participants wanting to join this milestone celebration and support children's hospice services. Find out more, enter the race, or volunteer by visiting the event website.
