Discover vintage treasures in The Walk this September

A new street market will offer shoppers the chance to find unique vintage pieces and sustainable fashion in the charming setting of The Walk.

Why it matters: The vintage and retro street market will bring together traders from across Suffolk, offering Ipswich residents a chance to discover one-off pieces and sustainable fashion options in a single location.

The details: The market takes place on Sunday, 7 September from 10:00-16:00, with stalls positioned throughout The Walk's winding streets. The event will complement the area's Elizabethan Shambles-style architecture and existing independent retailers.

  • Visitors can browse offerings from established local businesses, including The Military Unit, which sells military surplus and vintage fashion, and Threads for All, which stocks vintage wear, gifts, homeware and accessories.

  • The area's coffee shops, cake shop, vegan café and French bistro bar will provide refreshments.

  • Stalls visiting from across Suffolk include popular vinyl pop-up shop Vinyl Chief, while vacant units will house Bulldog Vintage, which creates bespoke handmade lamps, and Repurpose & Revival, specialising in vintage pieces and furniture restoration.

  • Wrenwild will offer sustainable fashion made from recycled materials alongside vintage items, whilst Hayleys Vintage Wear will showcase 1940s and 1950s-style ladies' wear, dresses and accessories.

  • Art Persona Company will also feature among the vintage and retro stalls.

What's next: Limited stall spaces remain available for vintage and retro traders. Interested stallholders can contact Becky at The Military Unit on 07529 247754.
