Families can select their perfect pumpkin at the Buttermarket next Tuesday, with face painting and a month-long pumpkin trail offering Halloween activities throughout October.

Why it matters: The Pick-a-Pumpkin event on Tuesday, 28 October, provides families with Halloween activities whilst supporting St Elizabeth Hospice through suggested donations.

The details: The event runs from 11:00 to 15:00 and features a pumpkin patch where families can choose pumpkins to take home and carve. Whilst the pumpkins can be taken without charge, suggested donations of £1 for small pumpkins, £3 for medium, and £5 for large will support St Elizabeth Hospice's community work. Both cash and card payments are accepted.

Free face painting will be available throughout the event to help visitors complete their festive look.

What else is on: The Great Pumpkin Trail runs throughout October, with participants searching for hidden pumpkins displayed in shop windows for a chance to win a prize draw. The trail runs until Thursday, 31 October.

What they're saying: Rebecca Bird, centre manager at the Buttermarket, said: "We can't wait to welcome the community for a fantastic day of Halloween activities. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy some festive fun whilst supporting a great cause like St Elizabeth Hospice."

The bottom line: The Buttermarket's Halloween event offers families a chance to enjoy seasonal activities whilst supporting local hospice care through optional donations.
