Armed police called to reported knife fight in Ipswich town centre
Armed police units were deployed to Ipswich town centre on Monday, 31 March, following a report that a male had been seen in possession of a knife in Carr Street.
Suffolk Police say officers were called at 16:40 and located three males in Upper Brook Street at around 17:00. The men were detained for a search, but no knives were found. A search of the wider area also found no other persons of interest or any knives.
Traffic was stopped on Upper Brook Street while officers were in the area. Witnesses reported seeing at least two armed response units and said one male had been detained.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: "Follow-up enquiries into the report will be made, including a review of CCTV footage."
