The Thrasher, a Hungry Horse pub on Nacton Road, has reopened to customers following a six-figure investment in its interior, food offering and beer garden.

Why it matters: The pub, owned by Greene King, has been closed for refurbishment and reopened to guests on Thursday, 10 July.

The details: The pub's interior has been refitted with new décor, lighting and furniture. The toilets have also been refurbished.

The food and drink offering has been extended to include a breakfast menu, available from 09:00 seven days a week, alongside a new self-serve coffee machine.

The pub has also installed new TV screens and sound systems to show live sport, including Sky Sports and TNT Sports fixtures.

Outside, the beer garden has been refreshed with new furniture, signage and lighting, and the children's play area has been updated.

What's next: The pub will host a weekly entertainment schedule, including Open Mic Mondays, a general knowledge quiz night, family karaoke on Sundays and regular live music.
