Police appeal for witnesses two months after hit-and-run leaves man seriously injured
A driver who struck a pedestrian on Cemetery Road in Ipswich in February and fled the scene has still not been traced, with police issuing a witness appeal more than two months after the collision.
Why it matters: The driver of the blue Ford Fiesta involved in the collision on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, at approximately 07:10 has not been traced, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The details: The incident took place on Cemetery Road in the town. The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital. The driver did not stop at the scene.
The bigger picture: The appeal comes more than two months after the collision took place. It is not clear why Suffolk Police have taken this long to issue a public appeal for witnesses. Ipswich.co.uk has approached Suffolk Police for comment on the delay but they hadn't responded at the time of publication.
What they're saying: Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage, CCTV covering the area, or who has any information about the vehicle or driver to come forward quoting CAD 33 of 17 February, or crash reference 1710109.
What's next: Information can be passed to Suffolk Police via email at james.perrier@suffolk.police.uk, online at suffolk.police.uk/tell-us, or by calling 101. In an emergency, always call 999.
The bottom line: Two months after a hit-and-run left a man with serious head injuries on Cemetery Road, police are yet to trace the vehicle or its driver.
