About

Anglian Water Services Limited, known as Anglian Water, was formed in 1989 during the partial privatisation of the water industry. It operates in the East of England and provides water supply, sewerage, and sewage treatment.

Regulated under the UK Water Industry Act 1991, it serves Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, and Suffolk. Additionally, it offers drainage and sewerage services from the Humber to the Thames, including parts of Greater London.

Despite being a private limited company, Anglian Water has faced criticism for paying high dividends, totalling £4.6bn between 2012 and 2022, instead of investing in infrastructure improvements
