Why it matters: The free event offers people across Suffolk a chance to honour deceased relatives and friends whilst supporting hospice care for more than 4,000 patients with life-limiting illnesses.

The details: Suffolk Remembers takes place on Saturday 21 June from 21:00-22:00 at Felixstowe Seafront Gardens. The evening will feature live performances from the Pop Chorus choir and Martlesham Brass, alongside poetry readings.

Now in its ninth year, the event invites people to dedicate solar-powered candles, whether or not they have used hospice services. Each dedication can include a photograph for the online gallery.

Catherine Sheppard, Individual Giving Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: "Suffolk Remembers is a very special day in the hospice calendar, bringing the community together alongside the charity to remember loved ones no longer with us and to mark the close of Suffolk Day in a poignant way."

What's next: The candles will remain on display from Saturday, 21 June until 13:00 on Wednesday, 25 June. The event is sponsored by East of England Co-op Funeral Services.

How to get involved: People can dedicate candles at www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/get-involved/events/all-events-challenges/suffolk-remembers-2025/, email fundraising@stelizabethhospice.org.uk, or call 01473 723600.

The bottom line: Suffolk Remembers provides a meaningful way for the community to remember loved ones while supporting vital hospice care across the region.
