The details: Police were called at 19:50 on Friday, 21 November, to reports of a collision involving a white BMW 120 and a pedestrian in Woodbridge Road.

The woman sustained multiple injuries described as potentially life-changing. She was initially taken to Ipswich Hospital before being transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital, where she currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

What's next: Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to review it for material that may assist the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads and Armed Policing Team at Police Headquarters in Martlesham, quoting reference 37/66180/25, via the Suffolk Police website, by emailing Jonathan.Carr@suffolk.police.uk, or by calling 101.

The bottom line: Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage as they investigate a serious collision that has left a woman with potentially life-changing injuries.
