Suffolk rivers under the spotlight at Ipswich talk this week

An expert from Suffolk Wildlife Trust will explain the state of Suffolk's rivers and what can be done to protect them at a public talk in Ipswich on Wednesday, 24 September.

Why it matters: This offers local people a chance to learn more about Suffolk's wildlife in an informal setting and discover practical ways to help protect our waterways.

The details: Alice Wickman from the Suffolk Wildlife Trust will outline what a healthy river should look like, the key species that belong in Suffolk's waterways, and the threats causing wildlife to decline. She will also share how the charity is working to improve river health across the county.

What's next: The event is part of the winter talks programme and takes place at 19:30 on Wednesday, 24 September at Museum Street Methodist Church, 17 Black Horse Lane, Ipswich IP1 2EF.

For context: There is no entrance from Museum Street – access is via Black Horse Lane. Free parking is available at the church, with additional paid parking in Elm Street and Wolsey car parks or nearby streets.

The bottom line: Entry costs £4 and includes tea or coffee. Flat-level access is available, making it a welcoming community event.
