The details: Yours Clothing secured the former Ann Summers premises on Tavern Street when the lingerie and adult store left the town centre last month.

The fashion retailer has committed to a 10-year lease for the site, signalling long-term confidence in the town centre location.

The former Ann Summers store was open for three years after relocating from Westgate Street in August 2022. Before Ann Summers, the unit was occupied by Paperchase.

For context: Yours Clothing describes itself as "the UK's best loved plus size fashion brand" and operates more than 140 stores nationwide. The retailer, founded in 2007 in Peterborough, specialises in affordable fashion for women, with sizes 14-40.

The move adds to recent positive developments for the high street which has welcomed several new businesses in recent months including Jamaica Blue, vegan restaurant Hank's and fashion retailer Utopia.

The bottom line: The 10-year lease commitment demonstrates Yours Clothing's confidence in Ipswich's high street, adding to the town centre's growing momentum. The store is now open at 24 Tavern Street.
