The new store at the site of the former Renault garage will replace the East of England Co-op's current Brunswick Road store, with all colleagues transferring to the new location.

The details: The store will feature the East of England Co-op's popular in-store bakery and hot food offering, alongside new services including Barista Bar coffee-to-go, freshly squeezed orange juice from iSqueeze, Fwip ice cream and Tango Ice Blast.

Members and customers visiting on opening morning will have the opportunity to win one of 50 prizes, including £100 in-store vouchers.

What they're saying: Sharon Hall, who will manage the new store, said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the team here at Woodbridge Road. I've worked for the East of England Co-op for 15 years, including seven as a branch manager. I know just how important this local store is to its community. It's a real privilege to help deliver a fresh new shopping experience for our customers."

"We're proud to be opening the doors to our brand-new Woodbridge Road Food store – a modern, community-focused space designed with our customers' needs at heart," said Andy Rigby, Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op.

"With more food-to-go options and an improved shopping experience, we're confident this new store will better serve the local area, while continuing the legacy and relationships we've built at our Brunswick Road location."

The bigger picture: Woodbridge Road follows the opening of the East of England Co-op's Ipswich Station earlier this month. Once open, the store will fundraise for St Elizabeth Hospice as part of the Co-op's Local Giving Summer campaign, which currently supports more than 100 different charities across the East of England.

What's next: The East of England Co-op is welcoming enquiries from those interested in leasing the current Brunswick Road store site, with details available from appointed agents Fenn Wright.

The bottom line: Woodbridge Road gains a modernised store with expanded services as the Co-op continues its regional expansion programme.
