Murder investigation launched after woman found dead in Ipswich

A murder investigation is underway in Ipswich after a woman was found unresponsive at a Russet Road address in the early hours of this morning and later declared dead.

Why it matters: The death is being treated as suspicious, and a Home Office post-mortem examination is due to take place today, Wednesday, 11 March.

The details: Officers were called at 01:10 to concerns for the welfare of a woman at the Russet Road address. On arrival, they found the woman unresponsive. She was declared deceased a short time later.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Police say the death is being treated as an isolated incident and that the parties involved are understood to have been known to each other.
