Ipswich Thrive: Business Festival expands to over 30 events

Entrepreneurs, start-ups and established businesses can access more than 30 free workshops, networking sessions and expert masterclasses this March when Ipswich Thrive business festival returns, doubling in scale after last year's successful debut.

Why it matters: Running from Monday, 9 March to Friday, 20 March, the second annual business festival provides crucial support for the town's businesses, delivering practical tools, professional development and connections at a time when local enterprises need them most. Session topics include AI tools, venture capitalism, marketing and the high street's future.

The details: Ipswich Borough Council has partnered with nine organisations to deliver the expanded programme: Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, University of Suffolk, Department for Work & Pensions, Ipswich Central , Suffolk New College , New Anglia, Tech East, Business Growth Coaches Network and Larking Gowen.

The fortnight combines practical skills development with strategic networking opportunities, designed for businesses at every stage from early-stage start-ups to established enterprises looking to scale.

What's on offer:

  • Business Growth Coaches Network leads workshops on marketing, AI integration, branding and confident pricing strategies.

  • ech East and IJYI will host a mixer exploring Suffolk's AI future, whilst Anglia Capital Group offers sessions on accessing finance and venture capital.

  • Ipswich.co.uk is running two 'Pitch Perfect' media masterclasses on Monday, 9 March and Wednesday, 18 March.

  • The Department for Work & Pensions hosts a jobs and careers fair on Wednesday, 11 March, whilst Ipswich Central leads discussions on the future of the high street and the University of Suffolk facilitates a women-led growth community group.

Networking opportunities run throughout the fortnight via breakfasts, executive dinners and informal meetups.

What they're saying: The expansion follows strong demand from last year's event. "In response to all the positive feedback from 2025, we've extended this year's programme of Ipswich Thrive events to run over a full festival fortnight," said Councillor Neil MacDonald, leader of Ipswich Borough Council.

"Whether you're a start-up, an established company, or exploring new opportunities, this festival is an unmissable chance to connect, learn, and shape the future of Ipswich's vibrant business community," he added.

The bottom line: Ipswich businesses have less than two months to register for two weeks of free workshops, masterclasses and networking that would normally cost thousands in consultancy fees.
