The details: The twins represented Karate England at the World Union of Karate-Do Federations (WUKF) European tournament in Riga, Latvia, securing medals galore.
Taia won two gold medals and a silver in team and individual events, whilst Tahjae secured two silvers and a gold medal in team and individual events.
Despite being in the sport for over a decade, the sisters had never had to fight each other competitively in a final of this magnitude.
What they're saying: "It was a good experience. I won and was gracious in victory," said Taia, who is studying forensics and criminal investigation at Suffolk New College.
Tahjae, who is studying health and social care at the college, said: "Going up against my sister was our first final together at a world and European level. We train together so it's not such a big deal. I was happy for my sister. It was a good day for the family."
The bigger picture: The twins started training in karate at the age of three after their mother, who became a karate coach, helped them get into the sport. Previously, they have competed in America, Italy, France, Scotland, Poland and Sweden.
"I like it as you get to travel and meet good people," said Taia. "The aim is to do this professionally or go into coaching."
Tahjae added: "The plan is to go as far as I can in the sport."
What's next: The twins have more competitions in the UK and hope to compete at the world championships in Romania in July 2026.
