Why it matters: The hire of a seasoned FMCG executive signals Adnams' commitment to driving profitability and shareholder value as it focuses on two key initiatives – Ghost Ship and Destination Southwold.
The details: Driscoll, a Deloitte-qualified financial professional, will formally join the Southwold-based premium beer, spirits and hospitality group on 1 September 2025. He will become an Executive Director of the Adnams Board, replacing Interim Funding Director Robin Paul, who will stand down after a handover period.
The new CFO brings significant financial leadership experience from across the FMCG and logistics sectors, having previously served as CFO for Constellation Cold Logistics, Valeo Snackfoods and Kettle Foods.
What they're saying: "I am very much looking forward to becoming part of the Adnams operation, particularly at a time of such bold vision for the future," Driscoll said. "It is especially exciting to join a business whose ethos and products are so cherished, not only within the Adnams heartland but across the UK and beyond."
Chief Executive Officer Jenny Hanlon welcomed the appointment, saying: "Andy is a great fit for our business and will play a very important part as we continue our focus on growth and profitability."
The bigger picture: The appointment follows Adnams' recent Annual General Meeting, where Interim Chair Simon Townsend outlined the company's emphasis on profitability and shareholder value whilst highlighting two key strategic initiatives for the year ahead.
The bottom line: Adnams is strengthening its leadership team with proven FMCG expertise as the 153-year-old independent brewery positions itself for ambitious growth plans centred on its Ghost Ship brand and Destination Southwold project.
