Two arrested in Ipswich drug operation as man climbs onto roof

Police have arrested two people in Cardinal Park today in relation to an investigation into drug dealing, with a separate incident seeing a man climb onto a roof in Charles English Close shortly afterwards.

The details: Officers made the arrests in the Cardinal Park area at around 11:00 this morning, Saturday 20 September. At approximately 11:20, a man was seen to climb onto the roof of a property in Charles English Close.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, possession of a knife or bladed article and possession of Class A drugs. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and possession of a Class A drug.

What's next: Both suspects were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, where they currently remain. Emergency services continue to deal with the rooftop incident, though there are currently no through-road closures in the area.
