Tools worth thousands stolen from vehicles at Ipswich business

Four vehicles were broken into at a Wherstead Road business on Wednesday evening, with thieves taking Makita, DeWalt and other branded power tools.

Why it matters: Over 30 valuable items, including power tools, batteries and chargers were stolen – a significant loss for the business.

The details: Suffolk Police report that three unknown offenders entered the premises between 5.45pm and 7.15pm on Wednesday 19 February, before smashing the windows of four vehicles to remove the tools.

Among the stolen items were:

  • Multiple Makita impact wrenches, drills, and a reciprocating saw
  • 15 Makita 18v batteries and four battery chargers
  • DeWalt tools and batteries
  • A Stihl battery disc cut off saw
  • A Bosch disc grinder
  • A Stabila spirit level

One suspect is described as wearing light-coloured trainers and a light-coloured baseball cap. No descriptions were provided for other suspects.

What's next: Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the crime, which has been given the reference number 37/9608/25.
