# To infinity and beyond: College welcomes new alpaca Fuzz Lightyear

**The big picture:** The newborn, named Fuzz Lightyear, arrived on Monday at the college's Otley-based [Suffolk Rural campus](https://www.suffolk.ac.uk/college-life/our-campuses/suffolk-rural/?ref=ipswich.co.uk).

**What they're saying:** Andrew Waddingham, a senior animal technician at Suffolk Rural said: "Fuzz Lightyear was born on Monday. We looked up alpaca names on the internet and this is what we came up with - it made us all smile."

- On the mother's care: "So far it has been going amazingly well. Fudge (his mum) is really attentive -- and this is what you want. She is also really patient when it comes to feeding."
- On student reaction: "The feedback from them students in relation to Fuzz has been brilliant -- it's been a great way to start a new term."
