## The weather

Today, in Ipswich, we're looking at a cold but bright winter's day. Temperatures will peak at 4°C, but the wind chill will make it feel closer to 0°C or below for most of the day.

- Sunny intervals this morning with some cloud, becoming clearer by afternoon
- Consistent NW winds around 8-10mph with gusts up to 23mph
- Very good visibility throughout the morning and early afternoon
- Temperatures staying between 3-4°C until sunset at 15:55
- Clear, cold evening ahead with temperatures dropping to 0°C

**Make sure you:**

- Wrap up warm with winter layers – it'll feel much colder than the thermometer suggests
- Consider de-icing paths or driveways as temperatures hover near freezing
- Keep an eye on vulnerable neighbours during these cold conditions
- Get outside during daylight hours if you can – we've only got about 8 hours of light today

### Planned roadworks

**Foxhall Road**: Anglian Water is carrying out metering works using multi-way traffic signals.

**Main Road, Kesgrave**: Suffolk County Council is undertaking ironwork repairs on lane 1 leading to the Ropes Drive roundabout, with a lane closure in place.

**Acorn Close, Pinewood**: Suffolk County Council is carrying out patching works to repair carriageway defects from the junction of Belmont Road to outside No 16, with temporary 15-minute delays expected.
