What we know:

  • Mike Lynch's body has been recovered from the wreck of the yacht Bayesian, which sank off Sicily on Monday.
  • Six bodies have now been found, but Lynch's 18-year-old daughter Hannah is still missing.
  • 15 people survived the sinking, including Lynch's wife Angela Bacares.
  • The Italian coastguard is considering whether to raise the sunken yacht from 50m depth.

Key details:

  • The yacht sank during a storm near Palermo, with 22 passengers and crew onboard.
  • Other victims include Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife.
  • The trip was reportedly a celebration of Lynch's recent acquittal on fraud charges in the US.
  • Lynch, 59, founded tech company Autonomy, and was worth an estimated £852 million.

What they're saying: Clare, Countess of Euston, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk, called Lynch "one of Suffolk's most inspirational citizens" and "quite simply a genius."

"He was always ready to help, hugely generous, the best of friends, but it will be his warm and wonderful smile that will be impossible for me to forget," she said.

What's next: Italian authorities are continuing to search for Hannah Lynch. A decision on raising the yacht will be made in the future.
